The Ramazzotti Runway Award goes to ... Juliane Werdin. Ramazzotti announces the winner of the second Ramazzotti Runway Award. Berlin, 9 July 2010 – after the success of the first Ramazzotti Runway Award at the fashion week in January 2010, yesterday’s event was another big hit. Around 500 fashion aficionados witnessed the breathtaking show from the competition finalists up close. This exclusive show in Labels2 was presented by Annemarie Warnkross, who, together with prominent guests from the fashion and media industry, awaited the jury’s decision with bated breath. The evening was a premiere for her too: ‘It’s a very special evening, the first time I’ve presented a fashion show. Not only were the designs thrilling, what went on behind the scenes also fascinated me.’ The collections were assessed by the jury using a system of points to determine the winner: Juliane Werdin, an outstandingly talented designer whose outlandish creations roused the audience into storms of approval. The 33-year-old designer from Berlin, who received the award from Caroline Beil, was delighted. “I was completely taken by surprise and I’m overwhelmed. The other collections were unbelievably good and I didn’t expect to win at all. It’s the best possible reward for many weeks of work.’ Alongside the winner, collections were presented that evening by the designers Alja Slemensek, Barre Noire, Tal Peer, Nicole Brejnholt and Carina Bohm. The event was a big opportunity for all of them, since they were given the chance to present their creations with professional assistance and impress a large audience. The award was created by Ramazzotti in order to offer young, up-and-coming designers a platform and promote their development. An attractive cash prize accompanies the award.
